International Investment Forum Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency in the MENA Region

The Arab countries are facing many challenges in adopting RE & Energy Efficiency (EE) in their energy policies. Low awareness from consumer side
is also impeding such civil society driver to move faster to greener sources. Therefore, despite the energy map target of 10%-20% of the total energy
demand from RE by 2020, the potentials and benefits of RE are still not well recognized. The Arab Renewable Energy Commission (AREC) intends
to work towards facilitating and promoting the culture of RE and EE to support the development and use of RE in all ways of life

§ To maximize know-how exchange through a high level forum.
§ To create business-to-business opportunities for using renewable energy & energy efficiency in the Arab countries through specific Round Tables organized
at the end of each day of the event.
§ To promote responsible business by meeting policy makers which will push to reach the proposed targets.
§ To compare the market current situation and the ready-for-the-market green technologies innovations.
§ To create opportunities for disseminating and exploiting the use of renewable energy & energy efficiency in the Arab countries.
§ To encourage future investment for renewable energy and energy efficiency.

In the Arab countries, both consumers and decision makers face various challenges in adopting renewable energy in their countries policies and legislations. Among these challenges are the lack of awareness and absence of knowledge of how to exploit renewable energy.
